Questions you have
but don’t want to ask us directly
We have tried to think of all the questions we ask ourselves when we need that reassurance before we embark on a holiday at a new destination
What do I pay and when?
Advance bookings:
Pay 25% deposit to secure your holiday now and pay the balance 4 weeks before your holiday; or
Last minute bookings:
Payment in full required for all holidays booked within 28 days of arrival. Payments will currently be made by bank transfer.
Will I get a reminder to pay my balance?
Yes, we will send you a reminder 7 days before your balance is due via email. Please note that at present, you cannot pay your balance online (soon though) and you will need to ring us to settle your account. Full details will be provided with your confirmation letter and email when your booking has been processed.
What’s included at the cottage when we arrive?
We have provided you with logs for open fires, cots and high chairs, for additional child a 48 hours before your holiday starts. There are dog blankets and baskets and a water/food bowl provided, but your dog may prefer their own. Outdoor seating, table and BBQ are provided and the kitchen is stocked with fresh bread and milk for your arrival.
Supermarket deliveries
We are happy to receive your online supermarket delivery if you plan to order it before you set off on your holiday, and it arrives before you do! Further deliveries throughout your stay we would expect you to receive yourself.
How dog-friendly are you? Here are our dog rules
We welcome well-behaved dogs but expect you to adhere to a few golden rules.
We have a large utility room where there are spare dog towels and poo bags for your convience as well as dog bowls. We also have dog beds available on request. We’ll expect you to be responsible for picking up all your dog’s mess.
Wash and dry your dogs after a wet and muddy walk. There is a hose pipe which can be used just outside the utility room.
All dogs staying in the cottage are to be kept downstairs.
What if I have a problem whilst on holiday?
When you stay in the two cottages in Beckington you will find that we live on the site, and can handle most issues that could arise.
Could we call upon a babysitter you’d recommend?
We know what its like when you come away on holiday as a young family, and in the evening hanker after that restaurant or a glass of wine after an evening walk. We can suggest a number of trusted sitters from the village who could offer that at a reasonable rate.
How deep is that pond?
We do have a pond and it is fenced off. It does act as a boundary between our property and yours. It is 1.5m deep in the middle and shallow 40cm at the edge.
